| ORIGIN/HABITAT: The Philippines. Plants are found mostly on Mindanao Island with collections reported in Davao and Cotabato Provinces and on Leyte Island. We did not find specific habitat elevation, but the species is said to be abundant around Davao and to come from low elevations. Therefore, we have estimated the elevation accordingly, but the resulting climate table and cultural suggestions should be used somewhat cautiously until an accurate habitat elevation has been reported. This orchid is said to grow on trees in light shade, sometimes exposed to rather bright light. -- Source: Charles Baker |
