| ORIGIN/HABITAT: Rather common in Central America from southern Mexico to Panama. They are also found Colombia and Venezuela. In Panama, plants grow in Chiriquí Province. They have been reported at 50-2950 ft. (20- 900 m) as epiphytes in open forests and coffee plantations, usually growing on the large branches of tree crowns. Plants may also be found as lithophytes in seasonally dry forests, and they seem to generally grow in areas with a definite dry season. -- Source: Charles Baker |
